06 December 2005

New Service designed to whet customers’ overwhelming curiosity about winning numbers

In a move aimed at ensuring customers' convenience, Mashreqbank launched its new SMS service, MashreqMillionaire Alerts from December 5th 2005. The new service is designed to whet customers' overwhelming curiosity about the winning MashreqMillionaire certificate numbers that bestow fabulous cash and other prizes on winners.

For a nominal annual fee of AED 9.95, MashreqMillionaire Alerts will provide regular updates to subscribers on the latest winning MashreqMillionaire certificate numbers, directly to their mobile phones as SMS text messages. However as there a large number of winners, SMS alerts will cover winning numbers of prize draws that amount to AED 10,000 and above. These include draws which will take place during Mashreqbanks pre – DSF draw on daily basis and during DSF on a weekly basis. The regular  MM draws  take place on 1st , 10th and 20th of every month and the alerts will be transmitted shortly after the results are announced.

“Ever since their inception, MashreqMillionaire draws have been bestowing windfalls and fabulous prizes on lucky winners. Naturally, the draws always generate almost feverish anticipation among our customers, who are known to go to great lengths to find out whether Lady Luck has smiled upon them. That’s why we decided to launch MashreqMillionaire Alerts. This service offers added convenience to our MashreqMillionaire base,” said Karan Kapur, Head of CKBM & Alternate Channels, of Mashreqbank.

Explaining the procedure for subscribing to the new service, Karan Kapur added that customers simply need to complete a short application form, available at any Mashreqbank branch. Customers  that only have MashreqMillionaire certificates and no bank or card account with Mashreqbank can visit any of 34 branches in the UAE and pay AED 9.95 at the Teller counter to set up the service . Certificate holders with an account can  provide authority to recover the annual fee for the service directly from their account.

Kapur further explained that Mashreqbank account/card holders also have the option to register themselves using Mashreqonline internet banking for this service.  Account/Card holders can opt for auto debit by specifying the preferred recovery account.

Kapur said the bank plans to inform its customers about the new service through website updates, email shots, direct mailers and SMS. Additionally, all the future MashreqMillionaire adverts will also briefly mention the new service.  The service will establish the fastest way for Mashreqmillionaire certificate holders to know the winning numbers.
This of course supplements the formal communication from the bank that goes out to all winning certificate holders.
